The 12 great feasts of the liturgical year of the Orthodox Church are represented, arranged around the central scene of the Resurrection of Christ and Descent into Hell. Technique: egg tempera on a gold background table. The 12 episodes of the life of Christ retrace the history of salvation from the birth of Jesus to his death and resurrection. This icon gives a face to the mysteries of faith and becomes an occasion for meditation and contemplation. Very healthy, it is in excellent condition considering its age, without repainting, only the sign of the fire of a votive candle in the lower left corner.
