Bronze icon from the late 1800s in a glass case, icon size 10.5 cm by 13 cm high. It represents the mother of God, "Joy of the afflicted" and her coins. The peculiarity of the image is the depiction of the "pennies" on the Virgin's dress. The detail is linked to the episode that gave rise to the veneration of the icon, much loved by the Russians. In the course of a fire caused by lightning in a chapel in St. Petersburg, everything was destroyed except the table with the Mother of God. The raging fire caused the fall of an alms box. The coins that came out, from half a kopeck, due to heat or a prodigious event, were welded to the image and could no longer be detached. For this reason, the iconographic prototype has since been enriched by the detail of the "pennies". In 1898, next to the destroyed chapel, a church was built where the icon is still preserved.
